The Annunciation Greek Language and Culture School was founded in 1918, as a ministry of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. It is an “after-school” program whose mission is to teach the Greek language, history and culture to children of pre-elementary, elementary and middle school age. The School is especially (but not exclusively) geared towards American children of Greek ancestry. The School also offers classes for teens and adults.
The School admits students ages 5 for Pre-K, 5 and 6 for Kindergarten, and over 6 for First through Seventh grade. Teen classes and Adult classes are also available. The format of the program incorporates principles of Greek elementary education and modern computer technology. Courses are taught by teachers who are fluent in the Greek
language. The program covers study of
Greek language, geography, history, music and dance (see this
flyer).
Details of tuition fees and meeting times are available upon request from the Greek Language and
Culture School, or by email to GreekSchool@agoc.org.
The school program,
children’s registration form, the
adult information flyer and the
adult registration form for
the fall 2010 school semester are available for download.
